Luís Velez Lapão é Professor com Agregação em Saúde Internacional (Transformação Digital da Saúde), membro do Grupo investigação em Saúde das Populações, Políticas e Serviços do Global Health and Tropical Medicine, do Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Professor Visitante em Gestão de Saúde (Karolinska Institutet 2014) e na Universidade de Dubai. É atualmente membro externo do Conselho Geral da Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa. Membro do Grupo Técnico da Telessaúde de apoio à CPLP. É auditor da Comissão Europeia para os Sistemas de Informação em Saúde desde 2005. Editor Associado da BMC Medical Informatics and Decision-Making. Atualmente coordena o WP6-Health Information Training do projecto INFACT da União Europeia (2018-21). É autor de mais de 100 artigos e 7 livros.
Pini is an accomplished business executive with over 20 years of experience leading change and strategic growth in the healthcare industry.
Pini serves as Mor’s CEO since 2003 and under his guidance the company has created over 60 medical startups and expended the Physician’s Research funds division from 70 funds to 700. Pini has worked to create collaborations with partners across disciplines of the healthcare industry in order to drive meaningful innovation and growth for Mor's portfolio. Over his time at Mor Pini has served as a director and as Chairman of the board of 35 companies.
Prior to joining Mor, Pini founded Bio-Gal, a biotechnology start-up that deals with Multiple Myeloma, where he led the start-up up to the successful merger with XTL, a publicly traded company. Before that he was the CEO of On medical centers, a chain of clinics that treats ED where he opened 70 clinics in 17 countries, employing 400 physicians, initiated the company's franchise model and launched additional business lines.
Pini holds an MBA degree from Johnson & Wales University, Providence Rhode Island.
Tobias Zobel studied Mechanical Engineering at FAU Erlangen-Nurnberg finishing with his diploma thesis “Functionalization of polymers for biomedical applications” at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, USA.
Since March 2018, he is the manager of the Digital Health Innovation Platform (d.hip) - an alliance between the Siemens Healthineers, the Medical Valley EMN the University Hospital Erlangen, and the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in order to foster innovation and development in the field of Digital Health. From 2014 until 2018, he has been the director of the Central Institute of Healthcare Engineering especially focusing on the initiation of new interdisciplinary research projects between academic institutions, hospitals and the industry on a national and international level and their transfer into innovative products or services. Being an ambassador and shareholder of the Medical Valley GmbH, he takes advantage of access to a huge network of companies and research institutions. Having coordinated the study programs in Medical Engineering at the FAU, he also ensured the high standards and quality of education. His seminars at the university included seminars like “Medical Device Directive”, “Interdisciplinary Innovations in Medical Technology” and “Operating Room of the Future”.
As a former resident of Brazil, he organizes various scientific workshops in South America and builds up a Medical Technology cluster in collaboration with the state government of Rio Grande do Sul with the aim of fostering highly interdisciplinary innovation projects across the globe (especially in China, USA and Brazil). His incubation efforts help to integrate researchers into companies and harmonize strategic goals of research and the industry.
Until today, Tobias Zobel is the founder of four companies ranging from software solutions for hospitals, manual therapy devices, wearables and pure consulting solutions. His clients are industrial partners (i.e. Siemens, adidas) as well as governmental institutions (i.e. Deutsche Bundeswehr, Capes).
His software company accuras GmbH originated from an international collaboration that offers solutions for clinical sterilization processes, workflow communication and indoor navigation. In the last years, he has been evaluating different innovation and research systems in various countries such as USA, Brazil, Mexico, China, Israel and Germany. In the official campaign of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) “Germany – Land of Ideas”, he promoted the expertise of the Medical Valley cluster in the field of Medical Technology in Erlangen and its surroundings.
